Your Siemens optiPoint 500 phone can be configured with a MAILBOX key, a PHONEMAIL key, or both.

With only a MAILBOX key, you can receive and manipulate PhoneMail messages and one reminder message. A reminder message is a signal a caller can leave if his call is no answered or if there is a busy signal.

With only a PHONEMAIL key, you can receive and manipulate PhoneMail messages only. You cannot receive or manipulate reminder messages.

If your phone has both a MAILBOX key and a PHONEMAIL key, you may access your PhoneMail through the PHONEMAIL key, and the reminder messages through the MAILBOX key.
When you have new messages, the light to the corresponding key from which they may be retrieved will turn on.

Mailbox Key
To display your messages, while the phone is idle, press the MAILBOX key. You will have the option to select All Messages?, Phonemail Messages?, or Reminder Messages? The caller’s extension and the date and time of the call will be displayed. For additional messages, scroll to Next Entry? and select it. To delete a displayed message, scroll to Delete? And select it.

Another method you may use to display your messages is to press the MENU key, then scroll to Program/Service? and select it. Scroll to Menu? and select it, then select All Messages?, Phonemail Messages?, or Reminder Messages?. The caller’s extension and the date and time of the call will be displayed.

PhoneMail Key
To display your messages, press the PHONEMAIL key and then follow the prompts.
