Pickup On The Avaya Merlin Magix 4412D+ Phone

The Avaya Merlin Magix 4412D+ phone offers excellent features for busy offices small and large. Its convenient features and functions allow for improved efficiency among workers as well as an enhanced customer experience.

On the Avaya Merlin Magix 4412D+ phone, Pickup allows you to answer calls that are ringing, parked, or on hold anywhere in the system. There are two types of Pickup: Individual and Group. Use Individual Pickup to pick up a call for one specific extension. Use Group Pickup to answer calls ringing at extensions in your Pickup group.

Individual Pickup
There are three types of Individual Pickup: General, Extension, and Line. Use Extension to pick up a parked call.

  • General
    To use with a programmed General Pickup button:
    1. Press Pickup and dial the extension number or line number.

To program onto a button:
2. Press EXT.
3. Lift the handset.
4. Dial #00, press Pickup.
5. Dial *9, followed by #*00.

  • Extension
    To use with the feature code:
    1. Press Feature or #.
    2. Dial 9 followed by the extension number.

To program onto a button:
1. Press EXT.
2. Lift the handset.
3. Dial #00 then press Pickup.
4. Dial *9, followed by the extension number, and then dial #*00.

  • Line
    To use with the feature code:
    1. Press Feature or #.
    2. Dial 9 followed by the line number.

To program onto a button:
1. Press EXT.
2. Lift the handset.
3. Dial #00 then press Pickup.
4. Dial *9, followed by the line number, and then dial #*00.

Group Pickup
To use with the feature code:
1. Press Feature or #.
2. Dial 88.

To program onto a button:
1. Press EXT.
2. Lift the handset.
3. Dial #00 then press Pickup.
4. Dial *88, followed by #*00.

Conferencing Calls On The Comdial Impression 2022S Phone

Conference calls allow you to converse with multiple parties over a single call. This makes it easier for businesses to collaborate with workers in remote locations and can help save time and travel costs. On the Comdial Impression 2022S phone, conferencing calls is a simple and effective task. Follow these steps to learn how to use this feature.

To set up a conference call that includes any combination of outside lines and intercom parties:

  1. Make the first call.
  2. Press TRANSFER/CONFERENCE (this places the call on hold).
  3. Select the next line and make the next call.
  4. Press TRANSFER/CONFERENCE to establish the conference.
  5. Repeat the last three steps to add up to two more parties for a 5-party conference (including yourself) when using the DXP system.
    Note: When using a DXP Plus system, you can have up to seven parties (including yourself) on a conference call.

To retrieve a line from hold and bring that party into the conference:

  1. Press TRANSFER/CONFERENCE.
  2. Press the line button.
  3. Press TRANSFER/CONFERENCE.
    Note: If all conference circuits are busy, you will not be able to add a party to the conference. The message “Conference Full” will appear in your display.

To continue conversation on the remaining line after other outside lines have dropped out of conference:

  1. Press the line button of the remaining party.

To drop out of a conference call between you and two outside lines (creating an unsupervised conference):

  1. Dial # (lines remain lighted and in use until one or both outside parties disconnect; when only one party drops out of an unsupervised conference, the other party remains on hold until hanging up or reconnecting with you on line).
    Note: The installer must program your system to include this feature or it will not operate as described.

To rejoin an unsupervised conference between two outside lines:

  1. Press TAP.
    Note: Conference volume levels depend upon the quality of external lines.

Screened Transfer:

  1. While on an outside call, press TRANS.

Unscreened Transfer:

  1. While on an outside call, press TRANS.
  2. Dial the station number or press the station button.
  3. Hang up to complete the transfer.

Answer A Screened Transfer Call:

  1. When you are alerted to the incoming call, answer the intercom call to hear the announcement.
  2. Press the flashing outside line or LOOP button.

Executive/Security Transfer:

  • If the station designated the executive station in system programming is busy or in Do Not Disturb mode, all calls will be forwarded to the secretary station.
  • The employee designated the secretary may signal the executive station by using the Call Wait feature by dialing 3 or pressing the programmed Call Wait button.

Conference Call Features Of The Nortel M3902 Phone

The Nortel Meridian M3902 phone is ideal for business environments with light telephone use, such as manufacturing and warehouses. The Nortel M3902 phone is an affordable single-line phone which offers convenient calling features, such as conference calling.

Conference Call
You can set up a Conference call for up to six people (including yourself) on the Nortel M3902 phone. Contact your network administrator to determine the maximum number of people your system allows on a conference call.

To set up a conference call:

  1. Press the Conference Key while you are on a call. The other party is on hold and you receive a dial tone.
  2. Dial the number of the person you want to add to the conference.
  3. Press the Conference Key when the person answers. Everyone is able to join the conversation.

If the person you attempt to add to the conference is unavailable:

  1. Press the Goodbye Key.
  2. Press the Line (DN) Key to return to your original call.

Call Join
The Call Join feature allows you to connect an incoming call to a call already in progress thereby creating a conference call. In order to use Call Join, your telephone must be configured with either a second line (DN) or a Call Waiting Key.

To connect a call on hold (on a different line) to your current call:

  1. Press the Conference Key.
  2. Press the Key that has the caller you want to connect to your current call.
  3. Press the Conference Key again. The person on hold joins your conversation.

Selectable Conferee Display & Disconnect
You can view the list of active conferees by using the Conferee Selectable Display Key and disconnect any party that has been added to the conference call.
Note: This feature is not available on the Meridian SL-100 system.

To view active conferees:

  1. While on a conference call, press the Conferee Selectable Display Key. The LCD indicator turns on. With each key press, the screen changes to show a different active conferee.
    Note: This action has no effect on the displays of the other telephones involved in the conference.
  2. Press the Goodbye Key. If configured, the Conference Count Display returns. The LCD indicator turns off.

To disconnect a conferee:

  1. While on a conference call, press the Conferee Selectable Display Key. The LCD indicator turns on. Continue to press the key until the conferee you want to delete appears on the screen.
  2. Press the Line (DN) Key on which the conference call is established. The selected conferee is disconnected from the call.
    Note: If there are additional conferees to be disconnected, press the Conferee Selectable Display Key until the conferee that is to be disconnected is displayed on the screen.
  3. Press the Goodbye Key. If configured the Conference Count Display returns and is updated to reflect the revised total count of conferees. The LCD indicator turns off.

Forwarding Calls On The Polycom VVX 400-410 Phones

Call forwarding enables your business to cater to clients and customers alike, connecting them to employees who can best assist them. With the Polycom VVX 400-410 phones, you can forward calls easily by following these steps.

You can set up your Polycom phone to forward all calls to another number, even if the Do Not Disturb feature is enabled. Call Forwarding is not available on shared lines. Please note that if your phone is configured to work with Microsoft Lync Server 2010, you call forwarding options will be different. Please see your System Administrator for more information.

To Forward All Calls To Another Person:

  1. From Home view, select Forward. (You can also select Settings from Home view, and select Features > Forward, or if your phone is idle, press Forward from Lines view).
  2. If your phone is set up with multiple lines, select the line to apply forwarding to.
  3. From the Forwarding Type Select screen, select the forwarding type you want:
    o Always – to forward all incoming calls.
    o No Answer – to forward all unanswered incoming calls.
    o Busy – to forward calls that arrive when you’re already in a call.
  4. Enter the forwarding number, and select Enable. If you selected the No Answer option, you can enter the number of rings before your phone forwards the call. A value of 2 is recommended.
  5. The forwarding number you chose displays in the status bar. If a phone is idle, Lines view displays the forwarding icon next to the phone line.

To Disable Call Forwarding:
From Home view, select Forward.
If your phone is set up with multiple lines, select the line to disable forwarding for.
From the Forwarding Type Select screen, select the forwarding type to disable, and select Disable.

Speed Call Keys On The Mitel Superset 420 Phone

The Mitel Superset 420 phone offers a wide variety of excellent calling features, such as Speed Call. The Speed Call feature enables easier and more efficient calling, leading to increased productivity among workers.

Telephone numbers that you dial frequently can be saved on “speed call” keys for single button access, to avoid having to dial the entire number every time. Any of the twelve Personal Keys that are not being used as “feature keys” can be programmed as speed call keys.

Save A Personal Speed Call Number

  • Press SUPERKEY. Press No until PERSONAL KEYS? is displayed.
  • Press Yes.
  • Press the desired Personal Key. Be sure that the selected Personal Key is not already programmed as a feature key.
  • Press Change. SPEED CALL? appears in the Main Display.
  • Press Yes. ENTER NUMBER appears in the Main Display.
  • Dial the number to be saved, including the outside access code and area code if necessary OR press REDIAL to enter the last number dialed.
  • Press Priv if you do not want the number to appear in the display when the Personal Key is pressed.
  • Press Save to save the entered number on that key. KEY SAVED appears in the display.
  • Press SUPERKEY again to exit.

You may use these instructions to changes a speed call number already programmed. An old speed call number is erased when you overwrite it with a new number.

Use A Saved Speed Call Number

  • Press the desired Personal Key. The programmed number is dialed.

The Call Park/Call Park Answer feature allows you to “park” a call at any extension. It is also used to retrieve a parked call from any extension. You can park and retrieve calls by dialing the Call Park Code (press PGM button then dial 73) followed by the extension number where the call is to be/has been parked.

Call Park

  1. While connected to an outside line call, press PGM 73 or press pre-programmed Feature/DSS Button designated as CALL PARK (if programmed).
  2. Dial the extension number where this call is to be parked or press the Feature/DSS Button of the extension where this call is to be parked.
  3. The outside line is parked at that extension.
  4. Hang up the phone.

Call Park Answer

  1. While the phone is idle, press PGM 73 or press the pre-programmed Feature/DSS Button designated as CALL PARK.
  2. Dial the extension number where this call is to be parked, or press the Feature/DSS Button on the extension where the call is parked.
  3. You are connected to the call.

Operational Notes:

  • Each telephone/extension has one personal extension number used to park one CO line call.
  • From your telephone you can park a call at any active extension number.
  • The Call Park feature code may be programmed on any programmable Feature/DSS Button.
  • Calls can be retrieved from any extension.
  • Calls that are parked follow the Transfer Recall Timer and will ring the initiating extension when that time has elapsed.

Messaging On The InterTel Axxess 550.8560 Phone

The InterTel Axxess 550.8560 phone is a cost-effective option for business offices. Among the features is system messaging, which allows you to leave messages for others and set reminders for yourself.

Inter-station messages are alerts sent to your phone by other internal parties, notifying you to contact the party who left the message. The Message button and Message Indicator lamp notify you of the new message. You can then either delete the message or reply to the message, which automatically places a call to the party who left the message.

Leaving Messages At Other Extensions
You can leave inter-station or voice mail messages for other internal parties.

To leave an inter-station or voice mail message for a busy IC extension:

  1. Press MSG of the LEAVE MESSAGE menu button. HANG UP OR WAIT FOR MSG CENTER appears.
  2. Do one of the following:
  • Hang up to leave an inter-station message. MESSAGE LEFT FOR <name> appears.
  • Stay on the line to connect to the message center (usually voice mail).

To leave an inter-station message without placing an internal call:

  1. Dial 367 (Leave Message), or press MSG and then press the LEAVE MESSAGE menu button. LEAVE MESSAGE ON EXTENSION appears.
  2. Enter the extension number. MESSAGE LEFR FOR <name> appears.

Viewing & Responding To Messages
When you have new messages, the MSG button and Message Indicator lamp are lit. The display shows the number of new messages.

The display shows new messages as follows:

  • Inter-station messages sent by other internal parties are indicated by the party’s programmed user name.
  • Voice messages are indicated by FROM MBOX <your extension number>.

To view or respond to messages:

  1. With the handset on-hook, press the MSG button. Messages are displayed as first in/first out. If there is more than one message, you can repeatedly press the MSG button or the NEXT and PREVIOUS menu buttons to scroll through the messages.
  2. When the desired message is displayed, press # or lift the handset for privacy, and then press # or the REPLY menu button to respond. (If your handset is off-hook and you press the MSG button, you automatically place a call to the party or message center that left the message).

Canceling Messages Left At Other Extensions
You can cancel messages left at other extensions.

To cancel a message left at another extension:

  1. Dial 366 or press MSG, and then press the CANCEL MESSAGE menu button. CANCEL MESSAGE ON EXT # appears.
  2. Enter the extension number where you left the message. MESSAGE CANCELED FOR <name> appears.

Deleting Waiting Inter-Station Messages
You can delete waiting inter-station messages.
Note: To delete waiting voice messages, you must connect to your voice mailbox.

To delete waiting inter-station messages:

  1. Press MSG or the VIEW MESSAGE menu button. MSG <message information> appears.
  2. Press * or the DELETE menu button to delete the displayed message.
